Tips from Pro Players and Coaches

GoSoccerPro is reaching out to soccer players and asking them to share advice with young players.  We have been fortunate enough to hear back from a few current professional players as well as some well-known retired players.

Current Professional and/or National Team Soccer Players

Brianna Pinto is a center midfielder for the United States U20 Women's National Team.  

She gained fame for accompanying US Soccer President Carlos Cordeiro to Moscow where she spoke and participated in the United's  (United States, Canada and Mexico's joint bid)  bid for the World Cup 2026.

Brianna has two older brothers, both of whom play soccer.  Her family lives in North Carolina.

In addition to being an Ambassador for the sport of soccer, she is also already establishing herself as a star player on the University of North Carolina's women's soccer team.

Dominic Oduro is a Professional footballer at the Tampa Bay Rowdies, a United Soccer League team in Florida.

Dominic is a young player who is making an impact.  He was discovered in his home country of Ghana and trained with the Manchester City Youth Academy.

He played with a few European clubs such as AGF Fodbold, FC Nordsjaelland and IK Frej prior to moving to the United States.

Christian Ibeagha is a Professional footballer at Oklahoma City Energy FC in the United Soccer League.

He has played for several teams including: North Carolina Football Club, Bohemian Praha, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, and the Puerto Rico Islanders.  He also played for the Nigerian National Team.

Adam Ryan Dawson is with the Tranmere Rovers FC.  He has also been recently asked to train with the England National Futsal Team.  Adam played for Leicester City FC, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bury FC.

Ryan Johnson is currently a member of the Jamaican Football Federation and plays on the Jamaican National Team.

A graduate of Oregon State University, Ryan has represented several MLS clubs including Chicago Fire, Portland FC and the San Jose Earthquakes.  He has also played abroad.

Matt Watson has recently joined the Indy Eleven American professional soccer team.  Indy Eleven coach Martin Rennie stated "Watson is a dynamic, box-to-box midfielder".

Matt has played for various other teams including: Phoenix Rising Football Club, Chicago Fire and the North Carolina Football Club.

Retired Professional Soccer Players

Mauro Bertoni is both the Coach and Technical Director International Academy at AC Milan.  Mauro played as an amateur for 7 yrs and professionally for 19 years!

Maura got his UEFA A LICENSED in 2011.  He has worked in several countries including:  Italy, Australia, USA, Algeria, Croatia, Spain, Dubai, Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania!

He also is very involved with NIKE Vogelsinger Soccer Camps in the USA.

Stefan Oakes is a retired English professional footballer who played for several clubs including Premier League Leicester City, Notts County and the Wycombe Wanderers.  His professional career spanned from 1998 to 2013.  He was a member of the Leicester City team that won the League Cup in 1999-2000.

Cristiano Scapolo is an Academy Coach at the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).  He played professionally in Italy for over fifteen years from 1989 – 2004.  He represented such clubs as Inter Milan, Roma, Napoli, and Bologna.  Cristiano is a veteran of over 400 Professional games, and was on  of 4 Professional Championship teams.

Lawrie Dudfield is a former English professional footballer.  He has played for a number of professional teams including:  Leicester City, Hull City, Notts County, Kettering Town, Northampton Town and Southend United.   Lawrie has played in over 300 games over the course of his professional career.  Since retiring, he started Iconz Experience Ltd.  This company specializes in providing United Kingdom Soccer tours and English Premier League soccer clinics He has recruited several other well known names in the world of football, including Alan Smith, Micky Adams and Mike Edwards.
